The Great South Run 2007

The BUPA Great South Run took place in Portsmouth last year on Sunday 28th October 2007.  The BUPA Great South Run is Britain's leading 10 mile running event.  The fast, flat route, in Southsea, Portsmouth is the ideal course to record a personal best and is regarded as one of the most popular road races in the United Kingdom.

The run is over a 10 mile course, which will be fully measured and certified pre event.  The race starts and finishes on the seafront in Southsea.

In 2006 one of Peter's (Sarah's Husband ) colleagues, Peter Longyear ran this race for a charity close to his heart and that was Breakthrough Breast Cancer.  This time around he tackled the course again where he hoped to better his personal best time from the year before.

After the death of Sarah and hearing that a Charity Foundation was going to set up in memory of Sarah, Peter Longyear announced that he would be honoured to run the 2007 event for her Charity.  Many people who know Peter were there to cheer him on in what turned out to be very harsh weather conditions, but he made it round the course for the second year running and despite the weather he topped it off in a personal best time too.

This was our first fundraising event for the Foundation and we would like to thank Peter for running in Sarah's memory and everyone who sponsored him.
